Idling on Campus
In order to advocate against unhealthy air quality due to idling, the EnvironmentalClub sent letters to the MTA asking buses to please not idle near the school. The Environmental Club also had no-idling signs placed in areas where students are typically dropped off which encourage parents and other drivers at Poly to turn off their engines during drop-off and pickup. Below is an example of a letter sent to the MTA.
Bike Racks to Encourage Clean Transportation
The bike rack placed inside the courtyard between the academic and engineering wings promotes student usage of bicycles rather than cars or other forms of transportation which contribute to air pollution.
